Why bamboo?

Bamboo is durable, renewable, and recyclable! It's actually a type of grass that grows from it’s roots.  When it's cut, it quickly grows back with some  species up to 120cm per day!   Usually maturing in 3-5 years. Bamboo is an incredibly strong yet lightweight material. Especially when compared to wood and steel.  This amazing plant grows in both tropical and temperate environments and is very hardy, not needing pesticides or herbicides to grow well.

When is comes to sustainability, bamboo ticks all the  boxes. Producing bamboo takes less energy and resources compared to wood or steel.  It’s a more sustainable alternative for many household items.

 As it’s technically a grass, not a tree, there are no weak points along its length. This makes it stronger and more durable than even the toughest hardwoods.

Bamboo also grows much faster than its hardwood and softwood equivalents. As such, it can be harvested every three to seven years. Some timber is only harvested when trees are around 30-50 years old!  

An eco-friendly solution to many of our modern requirements. Bamboo is 100% natural and biodegradable which gives conscientious consumers peace of mind.  Bamboo is a wonderful, green resource that is hugely beneficial both to the way we want to live our lives and to the environment.

 Bamboo requires no chemicals and very little water to grow. It absorbs more carbon dioxide from the air than either cotton or timber and  releases more oxygen into the environment which improves air quality.
